Stay at Home Dad

A very long, complicated story short - my dad "retired" a few weeks ago, and has been the best stay-at-home Dad a girl getting married in 58 days could ask for.

In his new found free time, he has been able to spend some male bonding time with Connor. He assembled all 163 of my wedding invitations (including gluing the layers of paper together). Today he is picking up the envelopes from the calligrapher, stuffing them and mailing them. He's been on the phone almost daily with the reception site/caterers working on the menu details. Having always been a great cook, he has now started looking through cook books to find new recipes and making tasty new dishes.

My favorite two examples of my dad being a stay-at-home (grand) Dad is that he has said:
  1. I need to find more stay-at-home mom's to be BFFs with on Facebook. They send me ideas of things to do with Connor
  2. "Today on Oprah...." "what else am I supposed to do with a one year old? not like he can help me chop firewood"
Thanks, Dad for helping Alex and I out during these busy months!!!!!
