My brother's baby's mother's sister - got married this weekend (aka Connor's other aunt). This weekend my brother's baby's mother's mother's father's sister and her family from England (but they're actually Irish) came to Atlanta for Meghan's Wedding. As Deirdre (brother's baby's mother) says, "the English are coming" to with my dad has always questioned, why don't they say, "the British are coming". Apparently, it's because they're not actually British?
Anyway, "The English", who are actually Irish were in town all weekend. After drinking every last drop of alcohol at both of Deirdre's uncle's houses, and with another night in Atlanta - we decided to take them to Olde Blind Dog, the Irish Pub in my neighborhood.
Every 17th of the month, Olde Blind Dog prepares for St. Patrick's Day with St. Practice Day. Festivities include door prizes, drink specials, give-aways, green shirts, and an Irish band.
Last night, given that we had so many Irish folks with us, we chose to sit next to the band. Once the rounds of champagne had been consumed, we switched to beer. The night got crazy, fast. And by crazy I mean, the band sang Connor a lullabye (yes, we had a baby in a bar), cousin Mary Quinn was singing with the band, and D's brother was Irish step dancing with her mom...and countless Guinness (poured properly, with a shamrock in the head) were consumed. I left around 10:30, and the fun was just beginning.
So, like I said, or maybe it's an Italian resturant commercial, "When you're here, you're family".
